My Story
Hi, I'm Rhyan. I've been a physiotherapist in Adelaide for 12 years. I grew up in Alice Springs playing pretty much every sport I could. Along the way I watched my parents rehab some pretty serious sporting injuries, which really peaked my interest in just how the miraculous machine that is the human body works.
Since graduating from Flinders University I have been working in private practice, establishing myself as a trusted and valued clinician and a supportive and encouraging mentor. I have dedicated many a weekend to courses and conferences in the pursuit of expanding my skillset. From pilates to dry needling, from the science of pain to acupuncture, I'm trying to absorb it all!
In 2023 a very unfortunate series of events saw me herniate a disc in my lower back, requiring surgery and six months off work, with a large portion of that time uncertain of what I would have the capacity to go back to. I thought with all of my knowledge of the human body, and in particular, managing persistent pain, that I would breeze through rehab. This was not the case. Thankfully, support, time, persistence, and knowledge got me back to where I want to be, and I can honestly say that the experience has made me a better clinician.
Reason Physiotherapy was born taking what I love (and getting rid of what I don't) about private practice physiotherapy and making it my own. I am passionate about helping people realise their own potential and care for their long term health, whatever that looks like for them. I want to empower people to take control of their lives and harness all that their bodies can be, rather than feel at the mercy of them. If that resonates with you, then come on in and have a chat; I'm sure we can work together to find your Reason.

Mark's Story
Hi, I’m Mark. I was born and raised in Adelaide and I’m passionate about helping people move well, recover confidently, and get back to doing the things they love. My approach to physiotherapy has been shaped not only by my professional experience but also by my own journey through injury and rehabilitation.
Before becoming a physiotherapist, I served in the Australian Army for twelve years as part of the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps. During that time, I worked predominantly on Black Hawk helicopters and had the privilege of deploying overseas on Operation Astute, a peacekeeping mission in Timor-Leste during the late 2000s.
While serving in the Army, I sustained injuries that required two shoulder reconstructions. Spending time on the other side of rehabilitation gave me a firsthand understanding of the challenges that come with injury and recovery. Through that experience, I realised my real passion was helping others improve their health, function, and quality of life. After discussions with my wife Virginia, I made the decision to change careers and pursue physiotherapy.
I graduated from James Cook University in 2017. Shortly after graduating, Virginia and I moved from North Queensland back home to Adelaide where I began working in a large physiotherapy practice. Over the years, I developed a strong passion for both patient care and professional development. Since 2021, I have worked as a Clinical Educator and have been responsible for training, ongoing education, and clinical mentoring for physiotherapists. Supporting both patients and clinicians to build confidence and achieve meaningful progress is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
Professionally, my areas of interest include strength and conditioning, tendinopathy management, osteoporosis and osteopenia care through the Onero approach, veteran health, and patient education. I strongly believe that understanding your body and your rehabilitation journey is an important part of achieving long-term outcomes.
Outside of the clinic, I am a proud father to my daughters Lily and Evie who were born in 2022 and 2024. I’ve always loved sport and fitness and as a lifelong supporter of the Adelaide Football Club, you’ll often find me following the footy when I’m not at work. I also enjoy tabletop gaming, miniature painting, and other creative hobbies that help me switch off and recharge.
I look forward to welcoming you into Reason Physiotherapy and helping you achieve your goals whatever your Reason may be.
